Dual Phase Extraction Treatment Systems
Dual phase extraction (DPE), sometimes known as multiphase extraction (MPE) or high vacuum extraction (HVE) is an in-situ technology which is similar to soil vapour extraction (SVE), except that a higher vacuum tends to be applied resulting in the physical removal of several phases of contamination including vapour phase, free phase and aqueous phase. This technique is often used on highly contaminated sites which contain large amounts of free phase hydrocarbon contamination. The application of DPE depends on ground conditions and may not be appropriate to all sites.
